When
should I schedule my appointment? |
|
The
best time to call for an appointment is 2-3 weeks before you wish to come

Will
my doctor receive a report? |
|
This
ultrasound is not a diagnostic scan, so your physician will not receive a
report. However, if the tech performing the scan detects any abnormalities,
your physician will be notified. This is one of the reasons we need written
permission from your physician. |

Will
my pictures look as good as my friend's, sister's, etc.? |
|
Every effort is made by our Registered
Ultrasound Techs to get the best picture that we can of your child. However,
there are some factors beyond our control such as:
-
Fetal Position - At times, the baby's
feet and/or hands may be in front of the face. Other times, the face might
be towards the wall of the uterus or hidden by the placenta. It MAY help to
drink about 20 ounces of juice or regular soda (with sugar) to make baby
active. If, in previous scans, your baby was laying low in the pelvis, there
is a chance it will be in the same position for your Baby Waves scan. If
this is the case, the 3D may be very difficult to obtain.
-
Gestational Age - The further along in
your pregnancy, the bigger the baby gets. The head may already be engaged in
the pelvis, which makes it difficult to get images of your baby's
face.
-
Amniotic Fluid - In
order to get good 3D images, it is essential that there is a sufficient
amount of amniotic fluid in front of the baby's face. If there is no fluid
in front of the face, or if the baby is laying next to the wall of the
uterus, it makes 3D imaging very difficult. Keeping yourself hydrated during
your pregnancy will help to ensure you have a sufficient amount of fluid and
also promotes good health for you and your baby!

Do
you offer any discounted rates for multiple sonograms? |
|
YES!
If you have a 2D scan performed after 20 weeks (the $110 package) and wish
to come in later during the 25-30 weeks to have a 3D scan, you will pay only
$120 or $170 for your 3D sonogram. This reflects a $30 discount and only applies to
the same pregnancy. |

Do
you charge more for twins and when is the best time? |
|
Yes
and no. For the 3D, we charge $170. Twins are a bit more difficult to view
using the 3D technology. We try very hard to get 3D pictures of both twins.
The 2D price is the same for twins.
The
best time for the 3D if you are carrying twins is 23-24 weeks. |
